When it comes to maintaining a proper hygiene, most people overlook the cleanliness of their ears. It’s surprising because our ears are one of the most sensitive parts of the body. Unfortunately, when it comes to earwax, most people don’t realize there is a build up until it’s too late. In the past, people would utilize Q-tips as means for cleaning their ears. But research has now indicated that Q-tips can actually cause your ears harm. So to keep good ear hygiene and prevent earwax and ear infections, what can you do?
Well, there are plenty of over-the-counter solutions that can clean your ears. Most of them can be found at your local pharmacy. But sometimes the best results for earwax and ear infections come from natural remedies. This remedy I am about to explain has two of the best infection-fighting ingredients. Rubbing alcohol is the first ingredient. Statistics have proven that rubbing alcohol eradicates 85% of all aerobic bacterial contamination that it touches. This makes it the perfect the disinfectant and cleaner.
The second ingredient is white vinegar. I know, the smell of white vinegar can be very pungent, but it is one of the most powerful antibiotics and antimicrobial products out there. When you combine them together, it fights infections, dries the ear and will break down the earwax. You will feel no discomfort or pain when you drop this remedy into your ear. Only use this remedy for mild or moderate earwax or ear infections.
To make this remedy, as mentioned, you’ll need rubbing alcohol and white vinegar. Mix the two together then take 5ml of the mixture and carefully drop it into your ear. I would recommend you have someone else put it in your ear because doing it yourself can be difficult. You don’t want to miss your ear and have this remedy end up in your eye. That could cause severe eye issues, so please be careful. Once you drop the mixture into your ear, keep your head tilted for a minute. Then slowly put your head upright so the mixture can run out of the ear. Do the same thing to your other ear. Do this twice a day for full effect.
