If You Rinse Your Hair With Coca-Cola, You’ll Get This Fantastic Result

There are a lot of crazy beauty trends out there that claim to do some pretty spectacular things for your skin and hair. In an effort to separate the bogus myths from the tried-and-true, YouTuber Ellie Kodiak tests out one beauty myth to see if it actually works. In this video, viewers will get to see if rinsing your hair with Coca-Cola can actually create some beachy curls.

The Coca-Cola hair rinse gained popularity thanks to actress and model, Suki Waterhouse. To try out the hair rinse for yourself, all you have to do is pour the soft drink all over your hair. If you have short hair, you’ll only need one bottle of Coke whereas if you have long hair then you’ll probably need two.

Ellie pours the soda onto her scalp while leaning her head over a bowl to catch any of the excess. After she’s done drenching her hair in bubbly soft drink, she explains that it’s time for her to jump in the shower. However, she will NOT be using shampoo. The Coca-Cola rinse requires you to rinse the drink out with water.

Once she’s done rinsing out the Coke, she immediately notices a difference in her hair. “There’s potential. It definitely looks more wavy than usual,” she says post-shower. Then, she decides that it’s time to blow dry her hair to see the final results. In order to create more waves in her hair, she makes sure to tousle her locks while blow drying.

“It is definitely different than my natural hair texture when I shampoo it normally,” she admits. “It feels not crunchy, but dry like it does when you use a salt spray. Obviously it has some texture. My hair has some waves in it that I didn’t have before.  And it’s fine by me.”

Although she’s not a fan of the look as is, the beauty and lifestyle vlogger thinks it has potential to be styled to one’s liking. In fact,  she admits that the style might look cute if someone was to create a textured beachy ponytail.

By the end of the video, Ellie’s pretty impressed with the results and states that she’s probably going to try it again. If you’re a big fan of the bedhead look then this is something that you might want to try out yourself at home.
