With the summer finally here in full swing, parents are dealing with all sorts of unforeseen health problems in their children. Allergies, skin reactions, seasonal colds—it’s all very annoying, and sometimes it’s impossible to deal with. This mother from Nottingham, England, found a surprising solution to a common health problem with children’s skin.

Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is an annoying and painful skin condition that affects up to 20% of all children. No one really knows what causes it (although hereditary factors are believed to be a big factor), but there are known triggers.

The summer is one such trigger. Some other factors that affect children’s eczema flares include dry skin, irritating substances, stress, sweat and high temperatures. One of the most recommended solutions to children’s eczema is to moisturize, moisturize and moisturize some more.

Paige Sweeney, a 23-year-old mother to a three-year-old named Evie-Rae tried that. She also went to see multiple specialists but no one could offer her a solid solution. Here’s her story:

Evie-Rae’s condition was so bad that she couldn’t sleep. The little baby would wake up in the middle of the night, irritated and crying.

Paige tried everything. Evie-Rae’s condition was so severe that she would scratch until she bled. Doctors prescribed antibiotics and steroid creams but nothing changed.

Paige told the Daily Mail: “She has had eczema since she was born, then when she was five weeks old she was diagnosed with a milk allergy.”

Then one day while at the supermarket, Paige spotted a $5 Childs Farm baby moisturizer and thought she’d give it a try. The results she saw blew her away.

Within a few days, Paige saw visible results. Then, a week later, Evie’s bloody rashes were completely gone. Three months later, Evie was completely eczema-free.

The unique factor in this cream is that it’s all natural. It’s dermatologist-approved and it contains grapefruit, sheaf butter, and tea tree oil. So even if you don’t live in the UK and can’t buy Childs Farm products, you can give natural treatments a try.

These are gentle, natural products that keep the skin moisturized without causing any irritation. So, if you live outside of the UK and would like to treat eczema, look for those ingredients. In some cases, the medications prescribed by doctors might not be able to help as much as a good, natural moisturizer.

Paige’s testimony and heartfelt Facebook post went so viral—and got picked up by so many media outlets—that Childs Farm is currently sold out of their baby moisturizer. Their shipping is also delayed until further notice.
