George Clooney Talks About Being A Dad, Confesses He Cries More Than The Twins

In his September 15 interview with MailOnline, George Clooney opened up about what it’s like being a 56-year-old father to his new three-month-old twins.

The interview kicked off with him showing off the latest photos that his wife, Amal Clooney, had sent him. He then told interviewer Gabrielle Donnelly that he cries more often than they do. “I cry four times a day right now,” he said. “Because I’m so tired.”

Though, he wasn’t getting more than he bargained for when he had kids of his own. With the majority of his friends have kids of their own, Clooney told Donnelly that he was already a godfather to several of them. But, as to be expected, his life changed when he had his own kids. “The surprise for me was how much more complicated twins are than just the one,” he said. “It’s not just twice as much work, it’s more than that. And it’s not even so much work for me because these two knuckleheads don’t even care that I exist right now.”

The twins are currently preoccupied with eating, which means most of the work falls to Amal for now. George gushed over her, saying that he has nothing but admiration for her.

Clooney admits that he was focused on his career before he met Amal. He made his peace with not being in a relationship but when Amal entered the picture, things changed.

Now that he has children, he says that he spends most of his time playing catch-up but that it’s been worth it.

George wants his twins, Ella and Alexander, to grow up with the important lesson of being children of celebrities. “It’s challenging to remind children who have been born into this glass of celebrity and money to have empathy for people who aren’t as fortunate as they are. That’s going to be Amal’s and my job to teach our children.”
