But maybe you’ll start thinking twice before craving sugar after you hear about a woman named Carolyn Hartz. She is 70-years-old and is in better shape than most people who are in their 20’s. What’s her secret?
Her secret is that Carolyn has not eaten any sugar for nearly three decades in a bid to stay wrinkle-free and healthy.
We gotta give her some serious respect for the amount of willpower she has. According to Daily Mail, Hartz was addicted to sweets.
But after giving up her sugar intake, Carol’s youthful looks were so noticeable that people could have sworn she had professional work done.
Carolyn is a mother-of-three and an entrepreneur from Perth, Australia. She told Daily Mail that she switched sugar for organic sweeteners instead.
In a recent photo of Hartz in a bikini, she shows off her body and glowing complexion. That’s basically what a lot of younger women dream of having. Some of us might never fully achieve it.
According to Daily Mail, Hartz spoke to FEMAIL about her top beauty and health secrets for women of all ages. Her words are not only inspirational but motivational as well.
She said, “A lot of women post 50 think that it’s not possible to maintain a reasonable shape and weight when they reach 50 or beyond.”
Hartz continued, “I even speak to women who are in their 40s and who have had children and think they cannot regain their body.”
Hartz realizes that it’s more difficult for women over the age of 40 to stay in shape but that’s no excuse. With a little hard work and motivation, it’s very possible.
She told Daily Mail: “We know our metabolism slows down as we get older. It just means we have to take control and make healthier choices and work a little harder”
She continued, “I believe it is very important to be aware of the type of food you eat and the quantity of food you eat. Being mindful while you are eating is a huge factor”
You might think to yourself that what this woman is saying sounds pretty obvious, but of course, it’s easier said than done.
So what exactly does Carolyn eat? She told Daily Mail that her diet includes fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and protein.
She also includes protein in every meal which helps her feel full longer and helps stabilize her blood sugar levels.
Carolyn makes sure to have three full meals a day with snacks in between. But her snacks aren’t junk. It’s either between 10-12 nuts or sugar-free cookies.
But don’t think that Carolyn has completely deprived herself of having her favorite sugary treat: chocolate. She actually has 2 pieces of dark chocolate every night. Super healthy.
