Cab Driver Claims John Elway Is The Best QB Of All-Time, Has No Idea Elway Is In the Car

Imagine you’re a taxi driver and you’re talking about your favorite athlete, only to turn around and see they were sitting behind you the whole time. This is exactly what happened to a D.C. cab driver who was caught on film praising Denver Broncos legend John Elway without knowing he was driving him around. It’s the perfect real, down-to-earth, feel-good video to start your day!

This weekend, John Elway was in D.C. for the swearing in of president Donald Trump, so like every other tourist in the area, he had to take a cap from the Capitol Hill area. The video starts with Glenn Stearns and John Elway’s wife, former Raiders cheerleader Page Green, as they encourage the driver to talk about football. The cab driver makes it clear that he’s a Pittsburgh sports fan, and that his favorite quarterback is John Elway.

The best part is that John Elway was sitting at the perfect angle in the backseat, hidden behind Stearns and not saying a word while the exchange took place. The driver has nothing but compliments and praise for his favorite QB, and he goes on about how he has a ranking and why John Elway is always number one.

The driver, who identified himself as Sam Snow, talks about New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. The passengers then keep joking around until the big reveal, and Snow’s reaction is as real as it gets when it comes to genuine reactions of happiness.

One of the passengers asked him if he would know who John Elways was if he ran into him. Snow answers that he would, then he is asked to turn around and gets quite the surprise.

“Oh, come on man – are you serious? It’s John Elway!” Snow says, his voice shaken with surprise. He then asks to take a picture with Elway, and he even cheekily asks the Broncos general manager to take his sunglasses off before they do it. Snow can be seen wearing a Steelers jersey, but he still manages some respect for Elway when he recalled the 1998 AFC Championship game where he beat Pittsburgh quarterback Kordell Stewart.

The video was posed by Glenn Stearns on Facebook and captioned: “I asked our cab driver Mr. Sam Snow to name his top three quarterbacks of all time. This is what happens when he finally realizes he is driving his #1 choice.” The video has been seen over 800,000 times.
