It’s been confirmed by Us Weekly that Long Island Medium star Theresa Caputo has officially split from her husband Larry Caputo. The two have been together for 28 years. The couple had released a statement to Us Weekly on Sunday, December 3rd.
The statement noted, “After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
But this hasn’t really come as a surprise, especially for those who have been watching the eighth season of the hit TLC show. The couple has been pretty open about their marital problems and viewers have felt the tension along with the couple.
On the November 27th episode, Caputo broke down in tears while doing a reading. She became pretty overwhelmed with her relationship struggles.
On the show, she said “I’m gonna say something, and I’m gonna regret it. Things happen. I can’t, I can’t do this.” She completely broke down in tears before walking off camera.
She later told the camera, “I’m in the middle of reading with Erin and my own emotions about my relationship with Larry got the best of me.”
She continued, saying, “This is a really hard time right now with Larry and I, and I don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s just, it’s wearing on me.”
Caputo also turned to friends during an episode that aired on November 13th. She said, “since the last season of Long Island Medium, Larry and I’s relationship has changed. We’ve been there for each other, you know, through thick and thin…”
She continued, “…you know, good times, and right now are not such great times. I don’t understand it. I lay in bed, and I say to myself, “How did this happen? How did I get here?”
In the same episode, the medium became emotional while speaking about her marriage. She began saying, “I sometimes interpret it as growing apart. I’ve changed and he has changed. We’re both not happy and, you know, it’s hard to try to work through that.”
Her now ex-husband, Larry, has been re-tweeting comments from fans who are showing their support. They all miss seeing him on the show. We wish both of them happiness during this very difficult time.
