Weatherman Has A Simple Solution For Defrosting Your Windshield In Seconds

As the weather continues to get colder by the day, it is only a matter of time before ice covers the windshields of our cars. If you live in a colder climate, then you are probably accustomed to hacking away at the ice every winter morning. It isn’t exactly the most pleasant task in the world, and it’s also time consuming and tiresome.

One weatherman, Ken Weathers, has found the solution (literally), to the problem of windshield ice which will likely save you lots of time and effort. He posted a home video on YouTube, in which he mixes one part water with two parts Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). He then mixes this solution into a spray bottle.

Weathers explains that this bottle can be stored in your car, even in winter months. This is because isopropyl alcohol has a freezing point of -128°F. Before getting ready to drive off, just spray the windshield a few times with the solution and ice and frost will be removed instantly.

In the video, Weathers says, “All you do is spray, and the frost is gone.” He demonstrates this to the viewer, by wiping away the residue. He also warns the viewer not to use hot water as a replacement or within the mixture, given that it can crack the cold windshield. He says, “…Just the simple spray of the solution on the windshield will make the deicing a lot quicker.”

As it turns out, this is not the first time that Weathers wows his audience and colleagues. Weathers has been awarded the Broadcasting Seal of Approval from The American Meteorological Society.

His video, which went viral after he posted it last year, now has more than 6.8 million views and 1,000 likes. Clearly, people found Weathers’ life hack useful.

Now that winter is fast approaching, Weathers’ windshield solution trick will probably save a lot of people time, energy, and some money. Hopefully, this will make your morning commute to work a little less bothersome. Watch the video below!
