It was on the Halloween edition of the Wendy Williams Show when the host suddenly fainted during a segment called ‘How You Booin.’ Wendy herself was dressed as the Statue of Liberty for Halloween and in the video, she can be seen stumbling, at a loss for words, and then suddenly she falls over.
The viewers can hear the audience gasp as Wendy topples over and the viewers are left in suspense as the show quickly cuts to commercials. When the show returns on air, Wendy can be seen standing on her two feet and back at work once again.
In the short clip, she says: ‘that was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume. I did pass out, but you know what? I’m a champ, and I’m back.’ Later in the week, the show put out a statement that read: ‘Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy’s spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow’s show.’
However, some fans were unsure whether the fainting was a Halloween publicity stunt or something that was genuine. A user called Rachel went on Twitter to write: ‘is this like a Halloween thing or is ya girl ok?’

However, Wendy disproved those rumours on her next episode which also happened to be her 1500th. On the show, she said: a lot of people thought that was a joke, me fainting on my set. No, that was not a joke.’

‘I’m a tall woman and it’s a long way down. I’m also a woman of a particular age and I’m not trying to break anything also I don’t do stunts and jokes for you like that. I don’t need that.’
She went on to say that after more than 48 minutes into her show, she felt dizzy and before falling over she felt like she was in the middle of a campfire. However, since that incident, she has refuelled with electrolytes, which she says was the cause of her fainting, and has felt much better.
