Will Smith Just Absolutely Ripped His Son Jaden In Hilarious New Instagram Post

For most of us, when our parents post something embarrassing to their social media pages, we can rest assured knowing that their follower count is quite dismal. However, when your dad’s an A-list celebrity, he’s going to have quite an audience. Jaden Smith found himself becoming the punching bag of his dad’s latest Instagram post, which hilariously parodied his recent “Icon” music video.

Will Smith may have only joined Instagram back in December, but he’s already managed to amass over 7 million followers. With his son having just released his debut hip-hop album Syre, the proud dad saw an opportunity to congratulate him while also obliging to the fatherly duty of simultaneously humiliating him.

A former hip-hop artist himself, Smith was inspired by the music video for Jaden’s fifth single “Icon,” which saw the young chain-clad rapper dancing in front of a parked Tesla Model X. To congratulate his son on his album hitting 100 million streams on Spotify, Smith decided to recreate the video shot-for-shot.

“It is a delicious gift to a parent to admire his children,” Will Smith captioned the Instagram parody post. “Keep doin’ you!” While the production value may not be quite the same, Smith’s version shows the famous father re-creating the entire first minute of the music video — grills and chains included!

After being uploaded for just two days, Will Smith’s loving parody managed to rack up almost 5 million views and over 70,000 comments. You really can’t be too mad at your dad for embarrassing you when he’s giving you that level of free publicity.

Will Smith ended the video by saying, “J Diddy! I’m proud of you, baby. One hundred million streams! Congratulations, man. A hundred million. Congrats! I love you.” That love was clearly reciprocated as Jaden tweeted, “I Love You” shortly after his dad posted the video.

Jaden also commented on the Instagram post, writing, “Dad this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life you’re the best father anyone could ask for thank you for allowing me to express myself even when I take it too far sometimes I love you more than you will ever know because you taught me how to love. Also thanks for having the best Instagram on planet earth.”
