Actress’ Life Support Turned Off Just One Day After Parents’ And Sister’s Funeral

An actress’ life support has been turned off just one day after her parents’ and sister’s funeral. Sounds too horrific to be true, but sadly, it is. Australian actress Jessica Falkholt was pretty well known in the entertainment industry. She was known for her role as Hope Morrison in the hit Australian TV show Home and Away. At only 29 years old, the young woman managed to make a name for herself in the world of television. Sadly, that all came to an end on December 26th.

Jessica was out and about with her parents and 21-year-old sister on Boxing Day. Suddenly, the family was involved in a deadly car crash in New South Wales. The Home and Away star and her younger sister, Annabelle, were pulled from the flaming wreckage of their car, while her parents Lars and Vivian died at the scene.

The Falkholt family collided with a 50-year-old driver, Craig Whitall, who had a traffic record of more than 60 convictions according to Sun News. He too died from the crash. Tragically, Annabelle passed away only three days after the accident, while Jessica was fighting to stay alive. After going through several surgeries, the actress fell into an induced coma and was placed on life support, according to reports.

Wednesday, January 10th, the Falkholt parents and their youngest daughter were laid to rest in Sydney. Vivian’s brother, Paul Ponticello, expressed his sadness over the loss of his family. He told reports, “They are together and always will be…you will always be remembered and in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace”.

But everyone had their hopes set on Jessica pulling through. Sadly, things were not looking up and she has now joined her family in heaven. Fans were pretty quick to mourn the death of an actress they knew on their favourite TV show.

Since the incident happened, police have been investigating what led up to the crash. They did find that Whitall was coming home from a methadone clinic and could have been driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the accident. However, there has been no additional information that has come out in regards to Jessica’s funeral. But fans are heartbroken by her loss.

While she was still fighting for her life, fans turned to Twitter to show their love. Network Seven, once a part of the Home and Away family, always part of the family.” While fans wrote, “I’m praying for Jessica Falkholt.
