If you’ve ever seen the show Britain’s Got Talent then you’ve definitely witnessed some wild performances. However, it’s not every day that a contestant – or group of contestants in this case – stuns the judges. Meet the Russian acrobat group, Angra Contortionist, whose audition for the show shocked even Simon Cowell (who’s known to be famously difficult to impress).
The group walked onto the stage and appeared a bit flustered at first as they were answering the judges’ questions. However, if they were nervous at all, it absolutely did not show in their stunning performance. The group of four introduced themselves as Angara Contortion and described their trip from Russia.
They looked very peculiar – the judges all sported bewildering faces as they filed onto the stage. All four group members were dressed in skin-tight blue bodysuits. They wore makeup that accentuated the arch of their brows as well as their bone structure.
Once they finished introducing themselves and answering the judges’ questions, they arranged themselves to begin their act. It was an unforgettable spectacle. The contortionists managed to bend their bodies in ways that seem unimaginable. Their movement was so fluid that they made the impossible positions look easy.
The group told the judges that they had travelled a great distance in order to be able to compete in the show. When asked whether they think that they can win, they humbly answered, “We hope so.”
At one point in the performance, one of the group members bends her body into a full split on the floor and then suddenly comes to a standing position. The entire audition looked more like an illusionist magic show than a real-life performance.
After they completed their audition, judge Alesha Dixon exclaims, “…Unbelievable! That was just a visual treat. I am in awe!” Judge David Williams adds, “That was one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen on this show.” Watch the performance below!
