Man Posts Online After Finding An Elderly Veteran Crying In The Bathroom

Sometimes it doesn’t take much to help someone in need. If you’re capable of extending a hand, why wouldn’t you? Not only will the person be extremely grateful but, if we are all this kind to one another, the world might be a better place. This story is a great example of a guy who went out of his way to help someone out.

Last year, Marcus Pass, who is from Tennessee, shared a post on Facebook of what happened and the post has since gone viral. The story is sweet and simple. Marcus witnessed an older gentleman in a public restroom struggling. Here’s what he had to say: “Rant of the day…. I was eating lunch at Zaxbys and overheard some young man laughing about an older gentleman in the bathroom that couldn’t get off the toilet…”

Marcus adds, “So I proceed to walk in and can hear this man crying on the toilet I ask him if he’s ok. He said that his legs were too weak to stand up and he left his cane by the door….”

The story continues, “I asked him to unlock the door and helped the man up and got his pants up for him, the man had a Vietnam veteran hat on and gave me a hug and told me that he’s 69 years old and that was the most embarrassing moment in his life with tears in his eyes…”

Marcus says that upon hearing this from the old man, he “shook his hand and thanked him for all he’s done and walked him out to the lobby and made that teenager apologize to the man… Moral of the story: Getting old is inevitable, but being a complete asshole to a stranger is not …….. rant over.”

Since it was posted on Facebook back on January 24, 2017, the post has been shared over 46,000 times. Many people have applauded Marcus for his action and for teaching the young man a lesson in decency.

There you have it. It really didn’t take much for Marcus to help, and yet it made all the difference for the veteran. Hopefully, this inspires you to help someone in need.
