Sophie Turner is an English actress who rose to prominence with her role in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones. The 21-year-old recently got engaged to her boyfriend and DNCE frontman, Joe Jonas. The pair made it official on Instagram with a social media post showing off her pear-shaped engagement ring.
The HBO actress captioned the photo ‘I said yes,’ while the 28-year-old singer captioned his photo ‘she said yes.’
The pair became a couple in public after they were spotted together at a Kings of Leon concert in the Netherlands last November.
The couple made things official when Sophie shared a photo of her boyfriend rocking sunglasses, a cap and also a cigar while at the stern of the boat. She captioned the photo ‘Miami Daze.’
During an interview, Sophie admitted: ‘I’m in a relationship, but it’s a very private relationship. I’m happier than I’ve been in a very long time. I very much isolated myself for a while and forgot what was fun.’
But of all the reactions that occurred after the couple’s engagement announcement, Maisie Williams’ reaction was definitely the best.
Maisie worked alongside Sophie, playing the role of Arya Stark in Game of Thrones. And Maisie’s friendship with Sophie has a longstanding history.
The two HBO actors have such a strong friendship that they have their own name mashup that is trending on Twitter and Instagram. ‘#Mophie’ is the term the two girls coined to commemorate their friendship.
In her Instagram photo, Maisie wrote: ‘Congratulations to my beautiful girlfriend on her engagement. This is just one of MANY life milestones we’ll share. Love you both. #mophie #jophie #holymoly’
Despite the sweet message, it might be Maisie’s seal of approval that made this message even sweeter. She decided to give up their bestie name mashup in order to create the new ‘Jophie.’
Their engagement comes just weeks after another Game of Thrones pair, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, announced their own engagement.
