Demi Lovato Shares Her Thoughts About Her Sexuality

It has been reported that Demi Lovato has recently revealed that she is now opened to dating women. The singer spoke in a recent red carpet interview for the launch of her documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated.

The film is pretty hard-hitting and explores Demi’s struggles with drugs, alcohol and an eating disorder. It also touches on her sexuality. At one point in the documentary, fans are able to hear about Demi’s road to suicide during a dark period in the 25-year-old’s life.

She also told fans that if they wanted to know more details about her sexuality that they should definitely check out the film. The singer was then asked by ExtraTV about the revelations that are in her documentary.

The interviewer said, “I know you talk at the end about being on dating apps and relationships, and I love what you said, that you’re looking for a human connection, and that doesn’t discriminate between men or women.”

She then proceeded to ask the singer, “When did you come to that realization?” Demi, with a huge smile on her face, replied: “That’s how I’ve always felt.”

Demi does not label herself, therefore no one should label her. She also revealed that she has now been sober for more than five years.

She also spoke about celebrities coming forward about Harvey Weinstein, saying “I think it’s very important that people stand up for themselves and speak out about these issues…it gives people the courage to step forward with things that happened…”

But back to Lovato’s sexuality. Pink News reports that there have been new rumours about her sexual orientation after she was seen holding hands with another woman last month.

The singer told People: “It’s something I don’t think needs to have a label: As humans, it’s just about a connection with someone.” The woman who was seen with Demi in Los Angeles was Lauren Abedini, a DJ, and producer.

Demi was also hesitant to open up about the lyrics to her song Cool for the Summer, which some believe may have a hidden message. But regardless, she has so much love and support from her fans, many of who would love for her to come out as proudly part of the LGBT community.

Their support stems from a recent article by HuffPost, which called Demi’s reasons for not publicly talking about her sexuality “total bs.” People found that rude and offensive. But luckily Demi is doing amazing now and has unconditional love for her fans.
