There is something very appealing about puzzles. Maybe it’s the challenge of competing with yourself or proving to yourself that you can find the answer or maybe it’s the promise of satisfaction of figuring out the puzzle, but they certainly draw on our cleverness and observational skills. They also sometimes require persistence, just like this hidden picture challenge below. Can you spot the cat amongst all of the owls?

That feeling of satisfaction when you’ve solved a puzzle is actually a physiological reaction. Puzzles assist our brains in the production of dopamine, a neurotransmitter, by releasing it when you’ve discovered a breakthrough. This neurotransmitter causes improved motoring skills, an increase in concentration power, optimism, confidence, and an enhanced recollection. As for the Panda, this is a little more tricky. If you found Pete the Panda right away (or at all), congratulations because the little guy is hidden quite well. Especially considering that all of these furry critters are drawn in a similar style.
They’re all a little pudgy and have buggy eyes, but once you find Pete you’ll be amazed that you didn’t find him sooner. There he is, near the bottom-middle of the photo. How fast did you find the two animals? If you didn’t, don’t feel bad – at least you exercised your brain a little!
