The Marvel Universe has delivered numerous films over the past 10 years. The fan base that loved the comic books now loves the films and for people who never read the comics, they love the movies. There is something really special about all these films that are closely tied together within the Marvel Universe. We know this because it has succeeded in surviving 10 years and grossed billions of dollars around the world.
Anyone who takes a close look at these films will notice that there have been some changes throughout. Some characters have become recast through the years while others have changed their appearance. And for those actors whose characters didn’t change much, the actors have changed a little. All changes do come with time and sometimes people need to have these changes pointed out to them.
If you are someone who isn’t aware that there have been changes in the characters and actors of the Marvel Universe then you have come to the right place. We are going to take you through some character changes from their first appearance in the Marvel Universe up until the recent Avengers: Infinity War. Below is a list of 16 characters who have changed since their first appearance in the MCU.
1. Iron Man: Iron Man (2008) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Ironman has barely changed since his first appearance in the MCU. Robert Downey Jr. has barely even aged over the past 10 years.
2. Captain America: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): There has been quite the change in Steve Rogers over the years. The first film had him scrawny and short and his recent appearance has him big and bearded.
3. Bruce Banner – The Avengers (2012) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Bruce hasn’t changed a lot over the 6 years he has been apart of the new MCU. The biggest difference we see is the haircut.
4. Thor: Thor (2011) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Thor has changed quite a bit since his first appearance in the MCU. The two most notable are the haircut and the eye patch.
5. Black Widow: Iron Man 2 (2010) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): There have been a lot of changes these past 8 years for Black Widow. She has got her own suit, a drastic hair change and looks wiser than she did before.
6. Loki: Thor (2011) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): The main difference we have seen in Loki is his costume. This costume has changed since he was known as the villain and then when he became a hero.
7. Bucky Barnes: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Bucky has seen a drastic change since his first appearance in the MCU. The first time we saw him he was the innocent best friend of Steve. Now we see him as the hero who has been through a lot.
8. Star-Lord: Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): There hasn’t been a lot of change when it comes to Star-Lord but he does look a lot wiser than he did four years ago.
9. Groot: Guardians Of The Galaxy (2011) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): We have seen quite the change in Groot the three times he has shown up in the MCU. First, he was fully grown, then he was a baby and in Infinity War he was a moody teenager.
10. Black Panther: Captain America: Civil War (2016) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Black Panther has only been in three MCU films over the course of two years, and he is killing it. His character’s appearance hasn’t changed much he just looks more confident in his suit as King of Wakanda, and he has grown his hair out a little.
11. Spiderman: Captain America: Civil War (2016) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Spiderman has seen quite the change over the two years of him being a part of this MCU. He has got a new suit and changed up his hair making him look like he has grown up.
12. Doctor Strange: Doctor Strange (2016) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): The appearance of Doctor Strange has changed over the two years we have seen him in the MCU. The most notable change is that he has grown a mustache.
13. Gamora: Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Gamora hasn’t changed much since her first appearance in the MCU. It looks like it’s just about her outfit, her fierce attitude is still the same.
14. Falcon: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Since Falcon’s first appearance in the MCU he has become a superhero along with his friend Steve Rogers. His appearance hasn’t changed much other than the fact that he got his suit.
15. Scarlet Witch: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): Scarlet Witch has changed a little bit since the first time we saw her in the MCU four years ago in a mid-credits scene. Since then her powers have gotten stronger and her hair color has changed.
16. Rocket Raccoon: Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) / Avengers: Infinity War (2018): This beloved raccoon has seen some minor changes in his appearance since we first saw him four years ago. The most notable change is that he looks a bit thinner than he did back then.
