Here’s When The ‘Roseanne’ Revival Will Premiere

The 90s were the golden age for television sitcoms and one of the most popular shows of the era is getting a brand new season.

ABC has recently announced the premiere date for the revival season of ‘Roseanne’.

The new season will feature all the original cast members and will be 9 episodes long. It will premiere on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 8 pm EST.

The first episode will be one hour long, while all subsequent episodes will be the traditional sitcom length of 30 minutes.

A press release from ABC said the revival of the series will feature the original cast, and some new regulars, and will “explore life, death and everything in between through the relatable, hilarious, and brutally honest lens of the Conner household.”

The series originally premiered on October 18, 1988, and ran until May 20, 1997.

What set ‘Roseanne’ apart from other sitcoms that focused on the day-to-day struggles of an American working-class family was its focus on the working mother of the family.

Other sitcoms of the time did feature working moms but were always adjunct to the father.

‘Roseanne’ isn’t the only popular sitcom from the 90s to receive the revival treatment.

Recently, the very popular sitcom from the late 90s ‘Will & Grace’ premiered a brand new season.

With ‘Roseanne’ and ‘Will & Grace’ revived for a modern audience, it has us asking what other popular sitcoms we’d like to say brought back from the dead.

My fingers are crossed for a new season of ‘Seinfeld,’ but all indications from those in the legendary sitcom cast seem to point to that being very unlikely.

Maybe if the ‘Roseanne’ revival is a hit that will change their minds? One can only hope.
