A woman on Instagram and other social media who goes by the name of Lauren Duck previously went viral for a story about her hysterical Tinder biography featuring her with her arm missing after a horrible traffic accident. Now, Lauren is making headlines again with her Halloween costume this year.
Lauren Duck lost her arm after a moped collision on a highway sent her flying into a road sign, which sliced her arm off. After a great deal of recovery, patience, and determination, Lauren has a new lease on life. Lauren once spoke with Buzzfeed and stated: “For a while, I wasn’t okay with the jokes. But then I started telling the jokes, and it’s kind of helped.”
Well, Lauren’s latest joke happens to be what many on the internet are calling “the costume that won Halloween.” Lauren has branded her missing arm with fake blood, bandages, and a sense of the macabre that is downright hilarious. A huge amount of respect goes out to a person like this, who is able to laugh at such a traumatic event in her past and look at it with humour.
Twitter user Android Developer (@androider) said, “I’m going to hurt everyone who doesn’t think this is the best Halloween costume ever!” With over 100,000K followers on Twitter, Lauren Duck has had nothing but positivity, laughter, and applause for her bold choice in Halloween wardrobe.
Lauren opted for the choice, musing on her Twitter account that she “couldn’t figure out what to be for Halloween” so she chose to “be an amputee instead.”
Lauren is currently trying to raise $50,000 on her GoFundMe page in order to receive a prosthetic arm for herself. The fundraiser is placed so that Lauren can receive what is called a myoelectric arm which has a hefty price tag.
All in all, Lauren Duck takes her accident with grace and humour. Her costume is a great deal of fun, and no doubt serves as an inspiration for positive body image for people everywhere.
