Jimmy Fallon’s Mom, Gloria Fallon, Has Passed Away

It has been reported that ‘The Tonight Show’ host Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria Fallon, has passed away. The sad news came a day after Fallon canceled his November 3rd show due to “a private Fallon family matter.” Thankfully, her family was by her side during her last moments and they were able to spend it together.

After the Friday taping of the show was canceled, a spokesperson for the Fallon family told People that Gloria had passed peacefully. The spokesperson confirmed, “Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time.”

Fallon didn’t share much about his personal life, however, he did tweet a relatable anecdote about his mom on a segment of his show called “#MomQuotes” this past May. In the tweet, he wrote, “My mom and I were talking on the phone for the third time that day and she actually said, ‘We don’t talk enough.’ #MomQuotes”

On another occasion, Fallon was speaking to Howard Stern on his radio show and told him that his mother was a nun. As he elaborates on the story and Stern asks him more questions, Fallon states that she was only a nun for “like, a week, but it counts.”

As Fallon is rather private about his life, the details and cause of his mother’s death were not immediately clear. However, a source that is familiar with the family and situation spoke to Variety.

The individual stated that ‘The Tonight Show’ host’s mother has been “sick and in the hospital” when the taping on November 3rd was canceled. The show has not yet resumed.

According to IMDb, the last show to be taped was on November 2nd featuring Alec Baldwin, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Jose Altuve, and Elbow. The next episode set to air on TV, according to the site, is tonight at 11:34 PM on NBC.
