Dwayne Johnson Confirms That He And Vin Diesel Refused To Film Any Scenes Together On The Fate Of The Furious

If you’ve seen any of the Fast And The Furious movies, then you know that Vin Diesel is one of the main focal points of the franchise, along with Paul Walker (Rest In Peace). But when Walker suddenly passed away from that tragic car accident, the franchise needed to find another actor that could fill the void. Fortunately, Dwayne Johnson was already part of the team, so his role became expanded. But with so many highly talented actors on the roster, having tiffs is quite common. But the feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson has become more than a tiff according to CNN.

CNN reports that this feud between the two co-stars started in 2016 when Johnson posted on Instagram saying “Some [male co-stars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” Johnson wrote. “The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es.” The post has been deleted since then, but fans speculate that he was talking about Diesel. But there may be some clarity to that post now. This year, Johnson told Rolling Stones Magazine that he and Diesel did not film any of their scenes together for The Fate of the Furious.

The Telegraph reports that Johnson and Diesel had a face-to-face discussion in Johnson’s trailer. Johnson states that they had “fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach movie-making and collaborating.” According to the Telegraph, Johnson that he is grateful for the clarity he received after their discussion and he also wishes Diesel the best.

Unfortunately, this feud began to affect other stars of the franchise. Tyrese Gibson posted on social media stating that if Dwayne Johnson was in Fast9, he would remove himself from the franchise. He also posted on Instagram saying “You mess with family and my daughters [sic] survival I mess with yours……close your eyes dude you’re a Clown,” according to CNN.

I have to side with Tyrese on this one; this franchise has been producing blockbuster numbers ever since the first movie came out. This family has endured some tough times, and now Dwayne Johnson wants to come and try to stick a thorn in their chemistry? I am a big Dwayne Johnson fan, but I’m an even bigger Fast and the Furious fan.

The Telegraph reports that Johnson is one of Hollywood’s highest-earning actors. He earns close to $22 million per film. But Diesel states that: “It’s not always easy being an alpha. And it’s two alphas. Being an alpha is sometimes a pain in the (butt),” CNN reports.

As a fan of the franchise and Dwayne Johnson as well, I can only hope that they find a way to put aside their differences and help keep this franchise going. If any of the actors from this franchise were removed, it wouldn’t be the same. A prime example was with the most recent film Fate of the Furious. It was an explosive film, but without Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster, it felt a bit empty.
