The man who went missing last April after reportedly going on a date with a woman he met on an online dating site called Plenty of Fish has been identified as Marty McMillan Jr. His remains were found in October in the woods in Prince George County in Maryland but authorities weren’t able to confirm it was him until now. The last time the 22-year-old was seen alive was before he left on a date with the mystery woman.
Marty William McMillan Jr. was last seen on April 22, 2017.
He had just started a new job as an electrician and his grandmother had just purchased a 2003 Volkswagen Passat for him.
It was on Thursday, January 11, on what would have been Marty’s 23rd birthday, when police announced that the remains they found did indeed belong to Marty Jr.

The skeletal remains were found on the eastbound side of Suitland Parkway between Interstate 495 and the on-ramp to the north gate of Joint Base Andrews.

After his disappearance, Marty’s father, Marty McMillan Sr. said: ‘his mom is going crazy. His grandma is going crazy. I definitely want to know exactly what happened or where my son is.’

His grandmother, Forlesia Cook, cried as she spoke about the death of her grandson. ‘He was a human being. He didn’t deserve to be laying out there all that time like that, just thrown away like a piece of trash. He didn’t do anything wrong that day — just trying to hang out and meet a girl.’

Investigators said that the last phone call Marty made was to the mystery woman. When police interviewed the woman more than a week later she said that she didn’t have her phone with her at the time and that she never met up with him.
FacebookThe Washington Post reported that Marty’s bank cards were used even after his death. Marty’s grandmother argues that D.C. police should have done more in looking for her grandson. Through tears she said: ‘they wouldn’t elevate his case to homicide. It was ‘critical missing,’ and it stayed that way until now, even though he was dead from the first day.’
