Terry Alan Crews is an American actor, illustrator, and former NFL player. But nowadays he is most known for being the face of Old Spice. He has appeared in sitcoms such as Everybody Hates Chris and Brooklyn Nine-Nine and popular films which include White Chicks and the Expendables franchise.
But since the recent expose on movie mogul, Harvey Weinstein, Terry Crews has come forward with his own account of sexual harassment.
It was last Tuesday when the New Yorker published an in-depth expose on Harvey Weinstein. In that article, three women came forward with allegations of rape and sexual assault dating as far back as the late 80’s to the early 90s.
Terry Crews went to Twitter to retell his story of sexual assault. ‘This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME.’
In his following tweets. He described how he and his wife were attending an industry function when ‘a high-level Hollywood executive came over to me and groped my privates.’
Instagram‘Jumping back, I said, ‘What are you doing?!’ My wife saw everything and we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk.’

Terry said that at the time he thought he was going to ‘kick his a** right then’ but threats of jail time and losing his career made him hold back.

‘‘240 lbs. Black Man stomps out Hollywood Honcho’ would be the headline the next day. Only I probably wouldn’t have been able to read it because I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL.’
Instagram‘So we left. That night and the next day I talked to everyone I knew that worked with him about what happened. He called me the next day with an apology but never really explained why he did what he did.’

Terry continued to describe how he didn’t want to be ‘ostracized – par for the course when the predator has power and influence.’

He tweeted: ‘I let it go. And I understand why many women who do this happen to let it go. He knows who he is. But sometimes you have to wait and compare notes with others who’ve been victimized in order to gain a position of strength.’

He concluded by saying that Hollywood isn’t the only place where sexual assault occurs and he hopes that his coming forward will encourage others to do the same.

‘Hollywood is not the only business [where] this happens, and to the casualties of this behaviour — you are not alone. Hopefully, me coming forward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless.’
