One of the longest-running debates has been on whether or not the earth is flat. Some people believe it to be flat. Then there are those who think the complete opposite. And then there are people who just don’t care.
Regardless of where you stand, you have to admit that some people do interesting things to test out if their theory is right or not. You can’t help but get seriously entertained by it. YouTuber D Marble is no exception.
Though it’s already been proven that the Earth is not flat, flat-earth conspiracy theorist D Marble begs to differ. In fact, he is so sure of his belief that he took a spirit level onto a plane to prove it.
D Marble is so confident in his belief that he said “we’ve been living a lie all this time and the planet is actually completely flat”
Even though scientists have produced hard evidence to prove otherwise, D Marble believes that not much of that evidence has been produced recently.
On his YouTube video, Marble said he wanted ‘to monitor whether or not the pilot would dip the nose of the plane to compensate for curvature’
He recorded a time-lapse that lasted for 23 minutes and 45 seconds which means the plane travelled a little over 203 miles.
By “proving” that the earth is flat, Marble hopes to convince scientists that all their hard work and actual knowledge are wrong.
He also hopes to show people that he is the one with all the answers and that his way of testing this theory couldn’t be more spot-on.
D Marble believes that because the bubble in the spirit level remained perfectly in the center, this is proof enough that the earth is indeed flat.
He says in his video “the bubble doesn’t stay centred due to gravity. Understand that gravity is still just a theory. Consider how gravity supposedly comes about…”
He continued saying: “A molten metal core which somehow becomes magnetized. If that is the case, then metal foundries should all be magnetized…should they not?”
Marble also adds “How does magnetism affect an air bubble inside a glass cylinder containing a liquid more saline than water?”
He finishes by saying: “No more defending what we know to be true! Now we take the fight to the enemy! #FEOffensive”
Though a lot of us don’t even know what this guy is talking about (or if he even knows what he’s talking about) a lot of people supported what he was doing.
But a lot of people aren’t buying what D Marble is saying…at all. People took to Twitter and Facebook to give their opinion on D Marble’s ‘flat-earth’ theory.
One guy said: “remarkable how the plane stayed completely 100% level during takeoff and landing, I’m beginning to question whether air travel exists”
While another person mentioned: “also remarkable how he essentially uses the principle of gravity (which makes the spirit level work) to disprove gravity”
Whether or not you think this guy is brilliant or just plain silly, we think we should give him some respect for at least trying to stand up for what he believes in…right?
