A Swedish model is quickly making headlines and known as the model with really long legs thanks to an amazing luck of the draw in the gene pool when it comes to her beautifully tall feature. La Östergren has gone viral with her Instagram account (@iostergren), gaining a whopping 200,000+ followers. La Östergren posts many photos of herself in an attempt to help inspire positive body image as well as inspire others to go on a fitness journey of their own.
Mother of two children and wife to renowned bodybuilder Torbjorn Östergren, La Östergren herself proclaims that every person should love their own body, after dealing with harsh bullying in her youth because of her lengthy legs. Östergren says on her Instagram that, “How people treat you is their karma. How you react is yours.” Her legs measure at around 40 inches in length, which is above average for most women. Their unique quality allows her to model and pose for beautiful images that really capture what makes La Östergren unique. One of the other personal mantras that she can be quoted with on several of her Instagram photos is to, “be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons” and to “stop competing with others, start competing with yourself.”
La Östergren is an inspiration for people everywhere. One of the biggest comments she made about how viral her photos were going, was that “I received ~700 comments telling me that I look like an alien and that my legs are photoshopped.” La Östergren went on to explain that, “We all come in different shapes, sizes and proportions; my body has been, and still is, a problem for some people. It’s our psychology to be afraid of something unusual, but remember to keep opinions that might discourage, discredit or insult someone to yourself. I love my body.” She truly is an inspiration for people struggling with body image everywhere. La Östergren wants us all to embrace what makes us unique.
