4. Max Headroom broadcast signal intrusion. In 1987, a man interrupted two different broadcasts on television. The first was on WGN-TV where highlights of a football game were interrupted by an unknown man dressed in a suit and a Max Headroom mask. He was bobbing around with a wavy background on behind him. He was cut off after 15 seconds. The second time was during an episode of Doctor Who on WTTW. This time, he stayed on the air for about 90 seconds. He did various strange things such as saying “Catch the wave,” and holding up a gardening glove and saying, “My brother is wearing the other one. But it’s dirty. It’s like you got bloodstains on it.” To this day, no one knows who the man was.
