The country singer revealed to ‘PEOPLE’ in a statement that she fell on the steps outside of her home on Nov. 10 and suffered ‘multiple injuries’ just a few days after hosting the CMAS. Her injuries included a broken wrist, several cuts and abrasions and 40 to 50 stitches on her face, according to the star.

She was treated at a hospital on November 12, 2017 and her husband, professional hockey player Mike Fisher, traveled back to Nashville overnight to be with her.

‘Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes,’ Underwood’s rep told ‘PEOPLE’. Carrie Underwood later broke her silence on social media following the accident to thank her fans for their support during the difficult time:

A few days later Underwood was back on Twitter again with an update on her broken wrist, letting fans know the surgery went well although she’ll be ‘setting metal detectors off from now on.’ However, fans have noticed Underwood has been avoiding posting any recent pictures post-recovery, only posting a few pictures where her face is noticeably covered.

Although Underwood had warned fans that her face might not look completely the same following the accident, fans still waited hopefully for an update on the star’s recovery.

Carrie Underwood has finally posted an updated picture, and not only are fans excited to see that she looks great but also because the picture is from inside a studio! Is Underwood making new music? Her caption doesn’t give anything away so it looks like only time will tell!
