John Travolta Is 64 And Can Still Crush It On The Dance Floor—See The Video

Acting legend John Travolta is no stranger to the dance floor. From Saturday Night Fever to Grease, to Hairspray, the Hollywood star has had his fair share of moments in the spotlight showing us some slick dance moves. Well, John Travolta was recently seen showing off his timeless dance moves at a Cannes Film Festival concert alongside musical star 50 Cent.

Travolta was seen cutting up some slick moves onstage with 50 Cent during the afterparty for his film Gotti (2018) in which Travolta plays the character “John Gotti Sr.” the infamous mob boss and leader of the Gambino crime family in New York City. Directed by Kevin Connelly, who has most notably been known for acting in roles in films like The Notebook, and The Secretariat, he has recently been taking to directorial projects with this as his third major feature in the director’s chair.

According to the Virginian Pilot, at the afterparty, Travolta thanked the artistic director of the Cannes Film Festival, Thierry Fremaux, saying, “Thierry, we wouldn’t be here without you, thank you from the bottom of my heart, because your admiring our film will boost our film as you did with ‘Pulp Fiction.’ There’s nothing like the Cannes Film Festival to give a rocket under a film globally, so I thank you for that.” Afterward, Travolta celebrated with his slick dance moves showing us all he still has.

The Instagram video, which went viral, was posted by 50 Cent’s executive Jeremy Bettis (@Jbettis420) showcasing the actor doing his best to keep up with the rapper. Another video was posted by 50 Cent to his own account on Twitter (@50Cent) which has gained over a million views! 50 Cent captioned the Tweet by saying, “Me and John Travolta partying. l swear l only came out here because of him.” The tweet itself was retweeted nearly 9,000 times.

Gotti was based on the book written by John A. Gotti, the son of the infamous mob boss who penned the manuscript Shadow Of My Father in 2015, years after serving time in prison for taking over leadership of the Gambino crime family. The song Travolta was dancing to included “Just A Lil Bit” by 50 Cent as the artist rapped and Travolta busted a move.

According to Vox, other films like Gotti that premiered at Cannes this year that really stood out included Burning by director Lee Chan-Dong, Climax from Director Gaspar Noé, Under The Silver Lake by It Follows director David Robert Mitchell, Shoplifters, Capernaum, Cold War, Girls of the Sun, The House That Jack Built by director Lars von Trier (who was once banned from the festival for sympathizing with Hitler), and the timely and highly praised film BlacKkKlansman, directed by Spike Lee.

Perhaps John Travolta and 50 Cent can collaborate again in the future on a project together, as it’s clear their chemistry on stage was really working for the entire crowd at this Cannes Film Festival afterparty! Gotti is set to release on June 18th in theatres across America.
