Woman Filmed Her Drink Being Spiked And Now She Has Responded To The Skeptics

Having someone put something in your drink is serious. Women have found themselves being drugged without their knowledge because they took their eyes off of their drink for only a couple of seconds. It’s rare that they even see who drugged them. However, at a festival in Brazil, it appeared that a woman named Kristal Santos filmed the moment a man dropped something into her cup.

The selfie the woman filmed was posted on Twitter by her friend, and while there were many tweets expressing concern and relief that the woman was okay, there was also a healthy dose of skepticism on Twitter. People could not seem to decide if the video was real or fake. While there were arguments for the video being staged, nothing could be proven conclusively.

Whether what the woman filmed was real or fake did not seem to detract from the concern that women need to be aware of their drinks and whether someone could be slipping something into them. The woman in the selfie eventually posted a response on Instagram indicating that she was alright and did not actually get dosed with anything by virtue of not drinking from the cup after the man supposedly put something in it.

The selfie video begins innocently enough, with the two women smiling for the camera and taking in their surroundings. The man approaches from behind and is unnoticed by the women.

After one of the women leaves the frame, it really does look like the man dropped something into the cup while the woman filmed herself, totally unaware of what was happening.

Twitter user @Jaeda_sky shared the video saying “I’ll never understand how a dude can be so wack with no game and feel the need to be such a disgusting predator.” The video has racked up over 10 million views.

The tweet received numerous replies expressing disgust for the man and concern for the women. One user, @Danmerk3, wrote “Subtle things like this are what people need to be careful for.”

However, there were some Twitter users who questioned if what the woman filmed was a real or fake occurrence. Twitter user @nicoleorra noticed that there did not appear to be anything in the man’s hand before he reached for the woman’s cup.

Another Twitter user, @jess_isss, appeared to provide screenshots of an Instagram story posted by the other woman in the video. Though they are written in Portuguese, @jess_isss (whose Twitter states she is from Brazil and appears to be written primarily in Portuguese) translates it as saying the video was staged. The girl whose cup appears to be drugged in the video goes by @kristal.ps on Instagram.

@Kristal.ps, whose real name is Kristal Santos, posted her own response to people’s Twitter inquiries in Portuguese. The highlighted section of her caption translated to English reads: “Once again I will explain here to those who are still worried… I did not drink anything from that cup because it was at the end of the party and the glass was already empty. Nothing happened to me. Yes, I’m glad the video is resonating in a positive way, as an alert for everyone to take more care of their glasses, including me.”

There may not currently be a straight answer pertaining to the video’s authenticity, but it still raises an important point. It is good to be mindful of your drink in a crowd, especially in an unfamiliar environment.
