Custom Built 2018 Ford Raptor ‘The Velociraptor’ Is A 6×6 Beast

Specialty car manufacturer Hennessey Performance unveiled their new custom Ford 2018 Raptor: the Velociraptor at the 2017 SEMA Show and it is impressive.

Jurassic Park taught us all that velociraptors were most likely one of the most fearsome and agile hunters of the dinosaur kingdom. Can Hennessey’s truck live up to its Jurassic name and be one of the most fearsome and agile pickups on the planet?

John Hennessey founded Hennessey Performance in 1991 and all their vehicle modifications have been about maximizing speed and performance, both of which hold true for the Velociraptor. This truck is about pushing it to the next level.

The pickup features an impressive 605 hp twin-turbo 3.5 L EcoBoost engine. That’s enough to get from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. For 6×6 pickup, that’s very fast.

Not only that but the Velociraptor has been heavily modified to the point that it puts out tons of power and torque. As much as this vehicle is about luxury, it’s just as much about getting the job done.

Based on some accounts at the SEMA Show, the Velociraptor features 520-foot pounds of torque. Clearly, Hennessey spared no expense.

The Velociraptor has 36-inch Toyo tires and custom front and rear bumpers. This along with its 8-foot bed, make the Velociraptor one of the most striking luxury pickups around.

And how much will the Hennessey Ford Raptor ‘Velociraptor’ set you back? $350,000. You read that right, this modified Ford Raptor pickup costs more than a quarter-million dollars.

And that price is just the base model. If you have the money to spend, you can get a brake upgrade kit, which will add an additional $22,000 to the base price.

With a price like that, Hennessey Performance clearly understands that this truck is not for the general public. They are only going to make 50 of them, making them incredibly exclusive.

We can pretty much guarantee you won’t be seeing these on the job site anytime soon.
