Chinese Skyscraper Climber Dies After Falling From 62-Story Building

Tragedy has struck the world yet again as a Chinese skyscraper climber dies after falling from a 62-story building. Wu Yongning was famous on social media for his videos that he posted of him on top of buildings. According to BBC, Yongning never used any safety equipment, which means he was a real risk taker. When Yongning stopped posting on his social media in November, his fans began to worry. Many of them feared that something tragic may have happened to Yongning. Sure enough, they were right. Yongning’s girlfriend posted on social media that the 26-year-old had passed away.

South China Morning Post states that a family member said that Wu was taking part in a rooftop challenge that was worth about 100,000 yuan to the winner. This works out to be around $15,000 USD. According to Yongning’s uncle Feng Shengliang, Wu was planning to use the winnings to propose to his girlfriend and take care of his mother. This goes to show that when it comes to family and love, we will do anything for it.

The day after the challenge was when Yongning was planning to propose. His uncle also added that the money was going to be for the wedding and medical treatment for his sick mother. His death is unfortunate and I am sure his mother and girlfriend would much rather have him here. Some might argue that Yongning was selfish, but he did what he thought he had to do to take care of his family.

Yongning never encouraged people to do the stunts he did. He constantly warned his audience to never try the stunts that he does. His martial arts training and constant planning are what allowed him to scale skyscrapers. A Chinese skyscraper climber dies after falling, and this trend continues to grow despite the dangers and high risk of death.
