Scott Kologi is a 16-year-old teen from New Jersey who gunned down his mother, father, and sister at close range just two minutes before the beginning of the new year. According to prosecutors, the teen shot multiple bullets into the victims at close range around 11:40 pm on New Year’s Eve.

The autistic teen shot his parents Steven, 44, and Linda Kologi, 42, his 18-year-old sister Brittany and his grandfather’s partner, Mary Schultz, who was 70 years old.

The 16-year-old has since been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

Christopher Gramiccioni, who is the Monmouth County Prosecutor, said: ‘this is a heartbreaking family tragedy, the unfortunate and sad reality is that (in) this case, we seek justice for the remaining family members of those that died. The sad fact is justice is likely going to involve serious punishment for yet another family member.’

He said: ‘My New Year’s resolution is to be as great of a parent as my parents were to me. I know many of you don’t want to read long bios but they were the greatest parents I could ask for. Never once was I without a hot meal or a roof over my head. They made sure Christmas came every year although they struggled financially.’
